John Shaw Chairs by Enrico Liberti
A set of 6 desk chairs (2 with arms, 4 without) made in 1940 by Baltimore furniture maker Enrico Liberti (1894-1979). They are exact replicas of the original Maryland State House chairs made by John Shaw in the 18th century. Liberti's chairs were made to be used in the Old Senate Chamber of the State House.
Used as dining room chairs, they are in great condition, but have been affected by the sun over the years. While the legs of the chairs are still in the true, dark brown coloring, the upper parts and the seat cushions have lightened.
Prices as follows:
$1,000 for a set of 4
$1,500 for the full set of 6
