"Facing the New World" Exhibition Catalog
Facing the New World: Jewish Portraits and Decorative Arts in Colonial and Federal America was first presented at the Jewish Museum, New York, from September 19, 1997 to January 11, 1998. A book of essays about that exhibit is available here.
This catalog features the exhibition at the Maryland Historical Society, which ran from February 20, 1998 to May 24, 1998. It presented an excellent opportunity to begin a comprehensive exploration of the contributions of the Jewish community to the history, culture, and life of Maryland.
